Sanpada College of Commerce and Technology (SCCT) Library organized orientation program for first-year students of AY-2025-26 to help them familiar themselves with the library services and facilities. These kinds of initiatives can be very beneficial for students in understanding how to make the most out of their college library resources.

Library Orientation Programme conducted from 08th July - 11th July, 2025, around 325 students attended the orientation programme. Each session was included the explanation regarding rules & regulation of  Library services .borrowing of library books, rules & regulation for library use, Journal & Magazine and reference books. Detailed information of OPAC, explaining the process for checking out Library materials on a click through scanning of QR code in the library or click on link (SCCT Website). Explained details of Library Blog, D-space, NDLI e-resources i.e. DELNET. To the successful access, introduced flow chart for reference. Guidelines were provided on how to efficiently use the library facilities, including the proper conduct while using library spaces, maintaining silence, and respecting others' study time.

Each session was thoughtfully designed to provide in-depth insights into:

·         Rules and regulations for borrowing library books.

·         General rules for library use.

·         Information about journals, magazines, and reference materials.

·         Detailed explanation of OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue): Steps to check out library materials through QR code scanning or the SCCT website link

·         Library Blog: Overview of the

·         D-Space- Students can access for Previous year Question Paper

·         NDLI- Online Portal

·         DELNET: E-resources Portal for reference and research work

By introducing students to the “Book Bank Scheme”, they can avail the benefits of getting textbooks on loan for an entire semester of academic year. The Book Bank Scheme initiated by Mumbai University is a valuable initiative designed to help students under category can get academic textbooks and study materials.

Additionally, by organizing competitions, the library committee is creating an engaging and interactive environment that encourages students to develop a habit of reading. Such activities can contribute to fostering a love for books and learning, helping students become more involved in academic and extracurricular growth.
